Clean up Moscow

In late January, Moscow was hit with a big snow and ice storm.  There was so much precipitation that came down that as you can see from the pictures above, it created quite a mess around town.  Some branches were so big that it knocked out power in places and blocked some streets.  After about a month, there was still so much debris along the roads and in peoples yards that our church decided to jump in and help with the clean up.  So last Saturday about 20 of our people got together and for two hours we drove around town and hauled away as many limbs and branches as possible.  We hit 20+ houses and hauled 12+ loads of debris to the dump.  There was so many limbs on the ground, that we could have worked all day and still had more to do, but every house we helped out appreciated it and some even offered money for our work.  I am so proud of our people, they had great attitudes, worked hard, got dirty, and gave God all the glory.

When we decided on a name for our church almost a year ago, we decided to add the word Community and that was important because we want the Palouse to know that we want to support, care, and love our community as God has loved us!!  So these kind of events are important to us because we can show Moscow and the surrounding cities that we are serious about being a COMMUNITY church!!  I wanted to share this with you because some of you are praying for us, some of you are financially supporting us, or some of you are just interested in how its going up here.  So here is just one more thing to let you know what were up to and I also want to thank all of you who are joining with us in  prayer and supporting us.  Your prayer and support is working and Gods name is going out!! So thank you and Praise God!!  Until next time!!

1st Community Service Opportunity of 2012

Acts 2:42-45 says, "All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper[i]), and to prayer.  A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.

Usually the church gathers to practice Acts 2:42, but on January 29th, our church met to practice Acts 2:44-45 and we went out into our community to serve them and share with them our possessions and money.  As you can see in the pictures our group delivered firewood to two homes where they didn't have much firewood.  We also did a food pounding for both families and were able to give out of our abundance.  I am so proud of our church, we don't let our youth, inexperience, or size hold us back from being the church!!  Praise God for the opportunities and may He give us more and more so we can be the church in every way!!  Ya God!!

Intersect Community Church 2012

I thought I would take a few moments and share with you some of our vision for 2012.  On January 29th our church met to hear the vision for 2012 and got a chance to see what the potential is for us this year.  So PLEASE after you read this, lift up a prayer for us because were gonna need God's full attention to accomplish all of this!!  Here we go:

  1. Start Seven Reach Out GroupS (ROGS are like small groups) – one in the first trimester, two in the second trimester, four in the third trimester
  2. Ten Community Service Opportunities – Five on Sunday Mornings
  3. Ten Family Fun Events –Where our families gather to play and grow as friends
  4. Embrace the north Idaho Summer lifestyle - Change church from Sunday mornings to Monday nights from 6:45pm-8pm during the summer (from June 10th – September 9th)
  5. Four Servant Evangelism events – One quarterly (ex. Harvest Party)
  6. Give away $1,500 to meet needs in our community
  7. Have an attendance of 213 people by 2013

I really believe God is going to bless our endeavors this year and provide for us in ways we can't even imagine!!  I am excited about the vision God has given us and I believe He has put together an All-Star team of people here to be apart of making it happen.  Pray that we won't get in His way and pray that when He calls us to get in the game, that we will have the courage to do what is asked of us!!  Thanks for all your support and love in 2011... Only let it grow this year!!
