Here is the latest...

Its official...  Our 1st service will be June 19th @ 10am at the Old Slurp N Burp.  So that means mark your calendars, pick up the phone and invite a friend, and email some loved ones about joining us!!  For those of you who don't live here in our area... PLEASE feel free to make a special trip to join us that Sunday if you can.  Here is some of my thoughts about our 1st service:

1. Feel free to invite family and friends who go to a different church for that Sunday. The goal for this first meeting is to not only to invite people who don't go to church, but to invite other believers who can be our guinea pigs, our test subjects who are safe and love us already even if we bomb (which we won't, right God!).  We also could use them because the more people who can help us naturally love those who have never been in church before the better.

2.  Invite those people who are your good friends who don't go to church to just support our efforts and our hard work.  Don't just invite them because they "need it", but ask them to come and give us feed back on what they thought.  Would they come back? Why or why not? This would help our efforts.  We don't want to create something nobody wants to come to, so if they will come and tell us why they would or would not come back that would be super helpful to us!
3.  Invite people who God puts on your heart, it might not make sense, but God usually doesn't make sense (His ways are different than ours and His thoughts are higher than ours), but lets be faithful to invite those He puts on our heasrts.
4.  Invite people who have gone to church before but haven't been in a church for a while.  They will most likely be open to checking it out because they kind of know what to expect and they might like being apart of something new.
5. Lastly and most importantly, Lets bring our 1st service to God's attention multiple times daily.  Lets constantly be inviting Him to our 1st service, lets ask Him to open peoples hearts as we ask them to join us, and lets ask for His will to be done that day like every other day!!
Also we need to start putting our feelers out there for equipment were gonna need to make this thing happen. Were gonna need all kinds of equipment like: Sound, video, drink, children, etc.  So if you know someone who has some stuff, ask if we can use, borrow, or see if they are interested in donating their stuff to a great cause!!  If you have anything that would be beneficial to our service, let us know ASAP.  Also if God is putting us on your heart and you would like to write a check to cover some of the stuff were gonna need, anything would help greatly!!  Lets all ask God to provide all He wants us to have for this first week!!

Also I have attached some pic's from our meeting and BBQ this past week.  1 thing is for sure... Our Church knows how to eat together!!   Thanks for your time and I am excited about what God is up to with Intersect!!

Here is the latest...

Today is May 24th a rainy day here in Moscow and we are quickly learning to not let the rain stop us!! This year has been the rainiest its been in a long time so, we have invested in rain coats, umbrellas, and rain boots so that we can still get out and pound the streets prayer walking and loving the community.
Our times Sunday mornings continue to be filled with great fellowship, teaching, training, and discovering who God is calling us as a body to be.  We had 12 adults and 8 children on Sunday and it was a good time as you can see from the pictures.  Jim Allen is our official photographer (great job on the pics) and he has been tasked with taking lots of pictures each week so that as we get our website off the ground, we can have a lot of great pictures to show who we are and what to expect.  They say a picture is worth 1000 words, so we hope to say a lot through our pictures.

Currently Deb, Anna, and I are working on putting a prayer tour booklet together for Moscow so we can get our people out praying for the city and equipping them with all they will need to feel knowledgeable and successful.  We have made contact with our Mayor and asked for her thoughts on how to pray for our city and we are still waiting to hear back from our Chief of Police on his thoughts as well.  This booklet will also be something that we can pass on to other churches in the community who have a desire to get their churches praying for the city as well.  This is one of the first goals we've been working on in order to be a boost to the city and the other churches in town as well.  We hope to have this ready by the end of June.

This week Marcus and I have been out looking for potential meeting places for Intersect to meet.  We have looked into several places and have had more doors close than open.  Please be in prayer that God would open our eyes to where He wants us to meet and also pray that we would have patience as we look for that place.  We have a meeting to look at a new community center in town tomorrow Wednesday May 25th.  It used to be a strip club and more recently it was a well  known bar.  It is currently being remodeled and could work very well for us.

Before we sign off, I want you to rejoice with us that the Davis family has had several offers on their house in Nampa and that our house is in the final stages of selling.  Hopefully within the next month both of our families will have our houses sold and we will be out from under the stress and weight of that.  Also be in prayer for our people, here are a few prayer requests we can be lifting up together:

Jim and his new boss' relationship
Ian and Mal's house selling
Francie and Mal and their pregnancies
Lindsey's cousins marriage
Erin's parents finding a job and meeting their needs
several our group is dealing with sickness, so ask for health
for wisdom and compassion for our Mayor, Nancy Chaney

Thanks again for your support and God Bless!!

Intersect Begins

Yesterday May 8th, 11 adults and 5 children showed up for the very first meeting of Intersect Church.  We had a great time of prayer, read some scripture together, and had a great time of sharing who God is calling us to be as a church.  One could feel a unity in the room as we all shared about the passions God has put on our hearts for the Palouse.  We met in the house that Anna and I are renting and it worked perfectly.  The adults met upstairs in our living room and the kids met down stairs.  The kids had plenty of space to learn, play, and be loud without the worry of distracting the adults.  We were able to buy nice tables and chairs for the kids to use to work on their projects and it helped make the kids excited about their new Sunday school room.  The coolest part of the morning was when one of the kids came running upstairs into the living room yelling, "mommy, look it's Jesus.  We got to make this necklace and it was SOOO FUN!"  The reality for our group is that for some of the kids, this is one of their first church experiences and so it is important for us to make sure they get quality.  Deb, the kids Sunday school teacher, who is a published childrens author, wrote the curriculum, created the projects, and did an amazing job teaching them to know that God is madly in love with them.  Our kids are already getting the best of what we have to offer.

One of the guys in our group, Ian, made us a giving box and some of our people tithed for the first time ever.  Pretty Cool!!

Please continue to pray that God will provide for all of our needs. God has already supplied our needs up to this point and I don't believe that will change but I want to make sure He knows that because He is our source!  Also be praying for Intersect because we just heard of a potential building this morning that will become available by the end of the summer and it looks like it could fit our needs perfectly.  It is relatively cheap to rent, has offices in it, and is owned by a Christian man.  We would love to see if Gods hand is in it or not.

Thanks for all your support, love, encouragement, and prayers.  We will do our best to keep you up to date as God continues to move.
