Well here are just a few pictures of our day Sunday at our first ever
Spring Family Festival. It was an awesome day filled with a ton of awesome food, snacks, fun, laughter, crafts, great conversations, and lots of people from our community. We figure we had well over 200 people come out to our event and many of which we have never met before. There were young and old, college students, single parents, church goers and non church goers who showed up to the party. We fed people Tri-tip sandwiches, gave them everything to make garden starts, offered inflatables for the kids, had everything you needed to make a wind chime out of recycled silverware, cotton candy, popcorn, and beautiful weather. It truly was a day that God set up for us and He took good care of us. In my previous blog I told you the story of how God provided the funds for this and that was the first miracle. All week it said Sunday would be rainy and cold with good chances of wind. Well when Sunday got here, it was cloudy skies until 11am. Blue skies came out over our heads and it turned out to be 60+ degrees during our event. We praise God for being our provider in every way.
As you can see in the pictures, our "Workforce" was out working hard and I must say we do have an All-star cast of people here at our church. No one complained, wined, had a bad attitude, drug their feet, showed up late, or anything else negative. They worked hard, stayed till everything was done, loved people, smiled, actually enjoyed the time, talked with new people, and just did a phenomenal job, thanks everyone!!
So I always promise you the inside scoop here on the BLOG and I don't want to disappoint you, so here it is. As some of our people reflected about the event to me, there was a theme. It seems like everyone from our church who talked to people kept hearing the question, "why did we do this?" So many people wanted to know if they could pay us for the food and fun and others struggled with why a church would do this on a Sunday of all days. Its funny how our world has a hard time accepting "a free gift". People want to pay for it, earn it, or feel bad taking it... and all we wanted to do was love them in a way that came through loud and clear. We wanted to do all this for our community to see how much God loves them. We wanted to tell people in a way that came across as "Good News"!
When we started this church, I told our group if we want to clearly communicate to our community that God loves them and we love them too, then we will have to speak their language and I believe the language they speak is time and money. Our Spring Family Festival spent thousands of dollars on our community and our church community volunteered their time to serve them and offer them the best of what we had. I think its pretty cool to hear of 1 more church spreading the Good News to those who God misses most in their own language!!

Isaiah 58:6-10
New Living Translation (NLT)
6 “No, this is the kind of fasting I want:
Free those who are wrongly imprisoned;
lighten the burden of those who work for you.
Let the oppressed go free,
and remove the chains that bind people.
7 Share your food with the hungry,
and give shelter to the homeless.
Give clothes to those who need them,
and do not hide from relatives who need your help.
8 “Then your salvation will come like the dawn,
and your wounds will quickly heal.
Your godliness will lead you forward,
and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.
9 Then when you call, the Lord will answer.
‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply.
“Remove the heavy yoke of oppression.
Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!
10 Feed the hungry,
and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
God Bless!!
